tie rod ends

#1 Post by cdrookie »

hey guys, just stopped at my local bearing store and picked up a set of tie rod ends. unfortunately, they're all right hand thread. i wasn't even thinking about needing 2 left and 2 right hand thread. oh-well. just wanted to give everyone a heads up if they need some, the bearing store is a good place to look. mine were $14 a piece. they look good, but not sure how long they will last...

Rookie, those from rod-end are the teflon/kevlar race with chromoly heat treated body, hard chromed -- XFR8 right, and XFL8 left... they have several other cheaper models/types all good, but you will like these so much you might end up wanting to also buy the right-hands and return the others!!!

i just ordered another set of them today. the 2 inner ones i had were worn out but they outlasted 5 different outer ones. the last outer one i used was a new stocker with the greese fitting, i have 2 races and 1 day of trail riding on it and it has slop, about 6 hours tops. 440ex4me(lenny) hooked derno up with the king kong version of rod ends. i don't think it'd be possible to wear them out. wish i knew where he got them from.
