You were right the first time,Ken:)
well it was a part of a survey demonstrating the way data is presented can affect the figures brought back. The statistic was to prove that if you ask one group of people to guess what 8*7*6*5*4*3*2*1 is the answer will generally be higher than a different group of people asked the same question only with the numbers reversed :1*2*3*4*5*6*7*8. even though the answer is exactley the same generally people will give a higher answer for the question 8 to 1 descending and people that get the 1 to 8 ascending question will give a lower answer. I guess I didnt explain well enough though when I asked for data, because too many people were trying to figure it out and get the exact answer or give me the time it took them to get the answer, as opposed to making a quick guess at what the equation equaled which is what I needed for my data. But its cool though, before my class I ran around campus and asked a bunch of random people and got what I needed. Thanks to everyone who made an attempt to help me out
