a replacement every race seems excessive. There has to be something else going on to wear them out other than just racing (improper install, abuse, etc..). Many on this forum race and get a full seasons worth of use out of them, if not more. The denton and peps will surely wear out over time but bending of shaft is not normal wear and tear.

Do they require you to change the stem? I called GPR six months ago and they said that they do not make them for the Cdale stem. I wonder if they found something that will fit!?
And I agree 100% about them lasting longer than one race. Or even a few. A good dampner should last at least a full season and longer if treated right.
i could go through a denton rebuildable in about three MX races, and mine were set up perfectlly. glad to have me ohlins:) if you race hard dentons will break, leak or quit working. from my experience. buy the scotts or ohlins, but when you do, buy some extra pins i snap those too (3 dollar part)
the pins are located in the middle right through the center of the arm coming out of the bottom of the stabilizer, ask happyboy for a pic when he gets the chance
