Mx tire question,please read

I was at magic racing a while back and saw (I think they were Maxxis) some 18" MX tires for 9" rims has anyone tried them?

I have a set of the MXR's. How much more wear do you get out of the MXR4's? Im gonna have to buy a set for this year. It'll be those or the Maxxis Razr, or Kenda Klaws.

My MXR4's look great. Quite a few races down and very little tread lost at all. I would buy MXR4's over Klaws anyday. I paid $50 per tire for my MRX4's and the Klaws are actually like $60 I believe so for the price, they're about the same. But the 4's are MUCH better. They also wear better than the MXR's do by quite a bit.

kenda klaws...good price and hold up well

and dont run 20" tires in the back! 18s are much better! trust me!

******, it seemse like if your fronts are wearin down you would want a harder coumpound tire with similar characteristics. Go with the Razr MX tire, take a tire groover and cross groove the center and outside knobbies like a holeshot lokos like.. it works great!

I really like the Klaw or Razr for up front for many reasons and because the Holeshots don't last me for squat. IMO they don't handle like the other two either. In the rear is a toss up. 18's for sure! I've used everything but the MXR4's out back. I like the Klaws in certain kinds of dirt and found the Razr's to be very predictable and handle really well. The Razr's in the rear have lasted me the longest too. I think for this next year I will run the Kenda's up front and try the MXR4's on the rear.:usa
