Mx tires

#1 Post by 311racer »

I was wondering if anyone has tried out the new kenda knarly Mx tires yet. And if so, what do they think. It's time for new tires. Im thinking kenda's mx tires or the razor mx tires. I want some thing that grips and going to last longer than 10 rides. :head:

I talked to Luburgh about the Knarley's and he said that they are like the mxr's. They grip awesome but don't last long. If you want something to last, I'd reccommend Maxxis MX's or Kenda Klaw's. If you want the best MX tire, I guess the consensus would be the MXR4's on the rear and whatever works best for you up front. I think I am going to run Kenda's up front and MXR4's out back this year.:usa

I race xc and run maxxis razr2 and one thing I have noticed it that dales will wear out tires faster than other quads. So I think no matter what brand you run they are going to wear faster than if a z400 or 450r or yfz would. The cannondale has more snap and tends to spin the tires more.

I ran the Knarlys last year. Went through 2 sets of tires over the course of the entire year (Jan till now) Second set is still on the bike.

Racing, logging roads, rocky trails, mud... very agressive riding.

Hook up is phenominal

Clean out is outstanding.

Wear is very good

Durability is outstanding (no flats)

Cost? You cant go wrong

That's what I thought, but after the other comments, I was starting to wonder. I have never used them, but i was going from what Luburgh and a guy over on EX riders said about them. They work great, just not very long.

I love the MXR's, but for the wear vs. cost, they are very expensive to run. Maxxis or Kendas are probably best for the buck.
