Rent Paddles...

#11 Post by daericks »

Hey bud. I'm not sure about renting paddles but we can check that out when you get here. When do you plan on arriving and do you plan on staying with me? Zack will be here all week so come in whenever you want. My place is fairly easy to find just let me know. Is this Josh by the way???

I just checked mappoint.

2522 miles each way

estimated 36 hours and $600 gas each way with quads in tow.

I'd consider it if Lil Jbr didn't have a broken collarbone and could ride.

Update on What to bring...

#13 Post by daericks »

There are a couple of things...
1) Bring a flag. Lighted is not required but you will die if you plan on riding in the dark without one. More importantly, you may kill someone else. You can't see ANYTHING out there.
2) GPS. If you have one, bring it. Good luck getting home without one...
3) Camelback for water. This is a desert, remember!
4) Sleeping gear, etc. There are NO showers out there except for one that is at a little shop and they charge you $10 or something like that. During the day it should be very comfortable but the evenings will be cool (45ish).
5) I previously mentiond Padles. Yes, required. No idea where to rent them.
6) Out of state people will need to get an out of state license. Estimated cost of ~$10-$20.

I'm sure there is more, I'll just keep adding to the list.

Ummm, no, didn't see any flags with lights. What about a glow stick.

Yes, Bring Tents!!

We will set up at a place that is fairly easy to find and will likely have a fair number of people around us. I don't really know how to describe it though... Also, cell phone service is almost nonexistent so plan on being on vacation!

Looks like a new member to the "group ride" is making this trip:

He bought a cannibal (black, 03, with unicorn case) from me, and lives about 10 minutes away. He just called, getting plane tickets tonight. Man is this gonna be FUN!!
