#1 Post by Happyboy »

OK, this may not be something new...just something i have noticed for the first time.....

1) we all know the open ended swingarm...weak if you do MX..
2) closed ended swingarms
3) closed ended swingarms with hole behind bearing in pivot?

check out the pics.

Yep both mine have the hole. It eventually trashes the bearing. There is a way around it . Ditch the stock bearing and inner seal and get a double length bearing with internal seals. A 400ex bearing will fit but its not sealed on the ends. You can use the inner race but put the short one to the outside.

..Why does the one on the right look longer??
..Mines an 03 mine has the hole in it,but i only noticed it when i pressed out the out seal sleeve,I thought it got sealed off??..Anyways I used, and sorry for the language but I used Winkys bearing set up,twice as wide very simple to do..It also gets rid of the "dumb" short spacers you have to fit in there between the motor and swingarm. But i havent ran it sents I put it in.

Happy,

You sure that top one doesn't have a sleeve still in it?

There was also a few prototype cast swingarms, Haydug has one of them.

Ok, been awhile since I Changed mine.

It sure looks like there is a sleeve in that one from the pics, maybe it's an different setup than stock?

You can get a 30mm wide roller bearing(stock is 20mm) with a seal integrated into the end.
