Amount of sag to use
I can't find any information as to the recommended suspension sag, and the search function doesn't allow 3-letter words:(
Well, someone told me one time that sag should be 30% of total suspension travel when you are sitting on it. As for me, I like to back off the preload almost all the way, if its stock suspension.
Heres how you set it, if you dont know. With the suspension fully extended, back shock preload nuts off until the spring is loose, crank it back tight a couple turns. What this does is make the quad sit a little lower and give you a better ride in the rough stuff. It shouldnt bottom anymore than it would if set the preload all the way tight. And since your going to be in sand, I wouldnt sweat it. One thing to remember, sag isnt a live or die thing, just play with it. You wont break anything by changing to it to your tastes.
